JJ and Michael are a husband and wife DJ team, with great, fun-loving attitude and a desire to provide you personalized service, giving you an incredible musical experience! They are singers, songwriters & performers themselves... they have been entertaining all of their lives. As such, they are experts at reading and entertaining an audience, knowing when to add a touch of banter and when to not. DJ is yet another aspect of their wide range of abilities to perform music and please a crowd!

Over 6 Million Titles To Choose From...
As a result of having access to databases with over 6 million songs, MauiDJ does not post a song list, as they are always adding to it daily. Instead, they make it very easy for you. Simply tell us what you want to hear, and we get it for you. Usually, we can obtain just about everything. If you request some rare or obscure music, that we cannot find, then we will request that you send us a disc of those hard-to-find songs so that we can add your music into our laptop set list. All music discs and listed requests need to be received by MauiDJ at least two weeks before our date of service.

Customizing Your Play List In Advance
We play what you want to hear. It's that simple. We invite you to complete our online form, telling us what songs you would like to have played. If we don't already have the title on our laptop, we purchase then download the tracks from a library of over 6 million songs. You make the call, as to whether or not your friends and family make requests and what kind of music is played. The most frequent format, requested by most couples, is to have dinner music played first, usually Hawaiian, Jazz or upbeat standards, then proceeding to first dance, special dances, then the much anticipated dance and party music!

State-Of-The-Art - Laptop & DJ Software
Our catalog of music is played with state of the art laptop software and audio interface. We have recorded the MP3 format at the highest resolution... providing crisp, sharp, great sounding music with full sound, lows and highs. Laptop allows us to instantly program a song on the fly, so if your guests request a song, we can have it cued in ready to go in seconds.

We Play All The Hits, All The Styles, For All Generations...
If you choose to have us program, we will read your crowd and play what they are dancing to and what they want to hear. We know the best songs that are guaranteed to get people on the dance floor. You can give us guidelines about the kind of music you desire, and we will program to your crowd, based on your guidelines. Our suggestion is that you consider your guests and what their music preferences are, and have us play a little something for everyone.

We Can Spin Your CD's
We can also spin your CDs, if you wish to bring some. We prefer downloading to our laptop all of your selections before your date. However, if you have a few last minute songs, simply put them on disc, label them clearly with track numbers, and we can play them as part of the set.

Programming Your Own Set List
If you wish to program all your music, that is okay with us, although we highly recommend that you allow us to break away from your set if it is not getting your guests to dance. Sometimes the most well-intentioned set, created by our couples, will not get people on the dance floor. In the end, it is your day, and we will comply with what ever kind of music you desire. But, for best results, if you are going to program, consider all of your guests and all of the generations that are represented by them and their musical tastes.

We are professional entertainers, with more than 20 years experience. We know how to read a crowd and how to satisfy all musical tastes. We know what songs keep people on the dance floor, and we know every aspect of your wedding reception activities, such as grand entrance, cake cutting, first dance, garter and bouquet toss, etc. We have participated in more than 5000 weddings in the last 10 years. Many wedding coordinators love to hire us, simply because they know we know the ropes. We usually anticipate what is going to happen before it does. Our experience helps to provide a smooth flow for the evening.

Modeling For Charity Fashion Show... American Cancer Society

Michael and JJ have been entertaining on Maui ever since they arrived in 1994. As live performers, they entertained at Cheeseburgers in Lahaina as well as many of the local venues. Soon they began singing for weddings, which they enjoyed so much that they began to concentrate exclusively on romantic songs for weddings. Accomplished singer/songwriters, they also perform their original songs, having written some of the most romantic Hawaiian songs, many of which can be heard on their CD, Island Romance. Michael and JJ are well known in the local community, and have entertained for Mayor Arakawa's inauguration in 1993 and numerous times for Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle (see picture right). JJ also models and acts. Her most cherished role on stage was in Phantom, at Maui Arts and Cultural Center MACC.
